  Questions From Readers - No More?

  i have noticed that recent watchtower magazines (15 november & 1 december, 2005) do not have the article "questions from readers".. anyone have information on this?

  if the watchtower has discontinued the feature, it would infer that the "deeper things" are no longer a concern to the jw masses.

  or is it testimony to a cinch on information control?

  It's all to do with control. Where does it say in the Bible you can't celebrate your childs birthday? Where does it say you cannot grow a beard and be successful in your Christianity?

  They control every part of your life - the way you worship, when, where, how, your view of God and what you think he wants, it effects your work, your family, both intimate and extended, your rituals (praying before meals etc), how you spend your free time, what and when you celebrate, how you sleep with your partner - even whether your shave or not or how long your hair is!

  They manipulate all of it using misapplied scriptures and the moral judgement of the self appointed as justification.

  You will not get an definite yes or no to the thanksgiving issue. It's a 'conscience' issue - in other words you are supposed to police yourself. If you have any doubt it's wrong, you're conscience should say don't do it!! It's all part of the manipulation.

  You're conscience is slipping defd, using Satans tool, the internet, to look for spiritual guidance is a Jehovah no-no.

  i watched it last night..... ya know.......... it took place over 1000 yrs after christ, and here we are 1000 yrs later... all the centuries of faith and dying "for god" or in the name "of god" whichever religion you may be and we're supposed to believe that jesus is coming again?

  um i might be an awful person for having such thoughts but hey jesus, your and mohammeds last visits caused a shitload of problems on the earth, if you come again, be better preprared this time k?

  Good film, though I thought Orlando was a bit weak as the lead - it needed some one with greater screen presence, like of Chuck Hestons ilk.

  I know it was a story, but, correct me if I'm wrong, but where did the siege equipment come from? When you saw Saladins armies travelling towards Jerusalem across the desert, they weren't dragging them and they weren't there long enough, nor had the trees, to build them. What were they using for ammo? They were supposed to be hurling boulders, or Greek Fire which is incendiary, (did they bring them as well, cos there ain't any in the desert), but when they hit Jerusalems thick walls they exploded like artillery shells.

  Artistic license I suppose.

  Why seven times? --- because it sounds like a heavenly number. When making a number up, fourteen point three six, though just as valid, doesn't have the same ring to it, does it.

  the doctrine that in 1914 the end of the gentile times took place, jesus took up rule in heaven.

  for some reason the jws think the outbreak of world war i in 1914 is proof their prophetic calculations were correct.

  I cannot comment on the identity of the celebrated WT scholars because life is full of mystery and secret things and this happens to be just one of those things.

  What is precisely your point? All that you have done is post the comments of critics on the scholarship of the NWT. Celebrated WT scholars boldly attest to the genius of the NWT Committee in producing the the most brilliant translation of the Bible ever made. The comments made by spiteful scholars clearly demonstrate their jealousy over the fact that the Lord raised up humble men to translate the Bible in accurate, modern speech in order people of many tongues could access its wondrous truths.

  If I had never read any posts from Scholar and didn't know he was a JW apologist, I would have said that the comment above was the most sarcastic reply I have ever seen on this forum.

  It oozes pride, pomposity and arrogance. It's tone is patronizing and dictatorial. Scholar does not even to bother to defend his precious translation, just runs roughshod over all criticisms.

  It speaks volumes about the intellectual honesty of this cult.

  PS - Congratulations - this is the first post I have ever seen from Scholar, without a spelling mistake. Did you get someone from the Writing Dept to check it for you first?
